Delete your 10 Breaths account

You can ask us to delete your 10 Breaths account and its data at any time. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account, so please follow the steps below.

How to request deletion

1. Find your details in the app. Open 10 Breaths and go to the Karma Points tab. Note your @handle and your invite code (shown in the invite card). Your accounts are anonymous, so these let us confirm the account is yours.
2. Email us from any email address, with the subject “Delete my 10 Breaths account”, including your @handle and invite code:

3. We’ll confirm and delete your account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply to let you know when it’s done.

If you no longer have the app (for example after reinstalling it), email us your @handle anyway and we’ll do our best to confirm the account is yours.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we permanently delete:

• Your anonymous account and @handle (which then becomes free for others to use)
• Your onboarding answers, including your vision for your life, and your settings
• Your private journal: every session’s feelings and thoughts
• Your posts on the wall (with the Breath Guide’s replies to them), your comments, and the hearts you sent
• Your karma points, your private Breath Guide notes, and any flags you raised
• Feedback and ratings you sent us, and your app usage information

What we keep, and for how long

• Moderation records: if a moderator acted on something you posted (for example removing it), we keep a record that the action happened, without your content, to keep the community safe.
• Totals: statistics we’ve calculated across all users (such as the number of sessions in a month) aren’t linked to you and may be kept.
• Feedback summaries: short excerpts of feedback may remain in our team’s internal feedback summary until it is next refreshed.
• Friends you invited keep their own accounts; only the link to you is removed.
• Backups: copies in our hosting provider’s routine backups are deleted as those backups expire, within 30 days.
• Our AI provider (OpenAI) may keep text it processed for the Breath Guide for a limited time under its own API data policy, after which it is deleted.
